Who you are dealing with

My Prof is made and operated by [LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS], and that is who you deal with about the app, your account and your data. Payments are a separate matter: your subscription is processed by Stripe's Managed Payments, so the seller named on your receipt is Link rather than My Prof. See Billing below, so nothing on your statement comes as a surprise. Your account

You sign up with your name, an email address and a password, confirm the address with a six-digit code, and the same account carries your plan to every computer you sign in on. Keep your password to yourself and keep access to that mailbox — a reset code sent there is enough to take the account over. Tell us if you believe someone else has either.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. One account is for one person.

Free and Pro

Free covers everything that runs on your own machine, plus a monthly allowance of generated notes. Pro is a subscription that opens the AI features listed on the pricing page, within the monthly limits stated there. Those limits and the features in each plan can change; if a change reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you before your next renewal.

Billing and renewal

Pro is billed in advance, in US dollars, monthly or yearly, and renews automatically until you cancel. The price shown before you pay is the price charged; tax is added where it applies. We never see or hold your card details.

Payment is handled by Stripe's Managed Payments, which means three things worth knowing in advance: the seller on your receipt is Link, your receipts come from Link, and the charge on your card statement reads LINK.COM* MYPROFSTUDY.COM rather than saying My Prof, and your bank may shorten it. If you do not recognise a charge, that is what it is.

If a renewal payment fails it is retried, and Pro stays on while that happens. If the retries do not succeed, the account returns to Free.

Cancelling, and refunds

Cancel any time — from your account page here, from My Prof → Plans → Manage subscription, or at link.com. Cancelling stops future charges. Pro stays on until the period you already paid for ends, and then the account returns to Free — the material Pro generated stays on your computer, because it was always on your computer.

We do not refund the unused part of a period you have paid for. Because Link is the seller, its own support can also refund a payment under its policies. If something went genuinely wrong — you were charged twice, or a Pro feature did not work for you — write to us and we will sort it out. Nothing here limits a refund the law where you live gives you.

Your lectures are yours

We claim no ownership of anything you record, upload or generate. It lives on your computer, and we hold no copy. In exchange, you are responsible for having the right to record and upload it: your instructor's permission, your institution's policy, and the law where you are. The app does not check any of that for you.

What you may not do with it

• Record people in a setting where recording them is not permitted.
• Upload material you have no right to, or that is unlawful.
• Resell, redistribute or share your account with others.
• Work around the plan limits, or put the service to automated or bulk use it was not built for.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things, and will say why when we do.

AI gets things wrong — check before you rely on it

Everything the app produces automatically can be wrong: the transcript, the fixes made to it, explanations, notes, flashcards, quizzes and study guides. This is not a rare failure; expect it and read accordingly.

• Speech is misheard. Technical terms, names, symbols and numbers are the likeliest to come out wrong — and so are quiet rooms, crosstalk, and accents the model handles poorly.
• Errors compound. Study material is written from the transcript. A word misheard early can become a fluent, confident, wrong explanation later.
• Models state wrong things confidently. A definition, date, formula or number can appear that was never in your lecture and sounds entirely plausible.
• An explanation sees a slice, not the lecture. A pin is explained from roughly the minute around it, so it can miss context given earlier.
• Things get missed. Whatever the microphone did not pick up is not in the transcript, and nothing downstream knows it is missing.

Check anything you are going to rely on against your own notes, your slides, your textbook or your professor — especially definitions, numbers, formulas and dates. My Prof is a study aid. It is not a substitute for attending your class, for your course material, or for professional advice in any field.

Your coursework is your responsibility

Whether you may use AI-generated notes, summaries or answers in your coursework is set by your instructor and your institution, not by us. Submitting generated material as your own may break your school's academic integrity rules. Checking that is on you.

No warranty, no liability

My Prof is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the app or anything it produces — inaccurate transcription, incorrect or fabricated explanations, wrong or misleading study material, missing content, lost or corrupted data, or any decision you make in reliance on any of it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liability to be limited, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Ending it

You can stop using My Prof whenever you like; cancelling ends the subscription, and deleting the app's folder removes its data from your machine. We can end this agreement if you break it, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will refund the unused part of a period you have paid for.

Changes, and which law

We may change these terms. A change that matters will be announced here with a new date before it takes effect, and continuing to use My Prof after that means accepting it. This agreement is governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], without affecting consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
